In 2005, Matchless Limousine of Nashville, TN, acquired a 1962 Cadillac limousine. Owners Peter and Diane Nesbitt were visiting the Cedars of Lebanon in Tennessee when they noticed an abandoned car on the back lot of an adjacent property and inquired about it. They eventually purchased the car from the owner to restore and use in their fleet. Matchless prides itself in providing vintage cars for clientele, and felt a 1962 Cadillac would be a grand edition to their current line of classic 1960's Jaguars, Rolls Royces and Bentleys.
Upon investigation, they found that the Cadillac was actually Waylon Jennings'. Along with the title, they had in their possession an original letter of payment terms, which was handwritten by prior owner Tommy Jennings, Waylon's brother.
On June 27, 2009, Matchless attended the annual "Waylon Remembered" event held at The Rutledge in Nashville, TN, and met Tommy, who authenticated the car by stating that the Cadillac had indeed belonged to Waylon, as he related stories about his and Waylon's adventures in it.
